F5 integrates with Thales TCT’s Luna Network HSM to secure the SSL keys and provide cryptographic acceleration for BIG-IP.

SOLUTION: F5 BIG-IP and THALES TCT LUNA NETWORK HSM

BIG-IP product suite is a blend of software and hardware that’s a load balancer and a full proxy. It gives you the ability to control and inspect the traffic that passes through your network. Both the BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM) and Access Policy Manager (APM) components of BIG-IP require the use of SSL to support secure and authenticated communication. By integrating a Hardware Security Module (HSM), processing-intensive cryptographic operations can be offloaded to a device that was designed to optimize those functions as well as securely store the sensitive keys in a hardened environment. Utilizing a Thales TCT Luna Network HSM provides you with an HSM from a trusted, U.S.-based source that meets the stringent security requirements put forth by the U.S. Government.
