Thales TCT’s Luna HSM for Government integrates with HID Global’s ActivID® Key Management System to provide both generation and storage of sensitive smart card and system keying material that is an integral part of their ActivID® Credential Management System (CMS).

HID Global’s comprehensive ActivID Credential Management System (CMS) enables government organizations to issue multi-purpose authentication credentials that provide secure access to everything from a physical building to an encrypted drive. Paramount to the security of the CMS is the protection of the encryption keys utilized by the CMS for several distinct purposes. The Thales TCT Luna HSM provides this protection with a FIPS 140-2 Level 3 validated appliance, as well providing the CMS with a means of offloading the task of key generation and other crypto operations.
