The Luna T7 Cryptographic Module, the underpinning of the Luna T-Series Network and PCIe HSMs, was officially submitted to NIST for FIPS 140-3 validation on Friday, 23 May 2025. This is a milestone achievement that will maintain the Luna T-Series’ position as the preferred root of trust for our U.S. Federal customers as they embark on Zero Trust network modernization, adoption of Post-Quantum Cryptography, and build-up of A.I. systems.
Customers can find the Luna T7 Cryptographic Module alongside the Luna M7 Cryptographic Module – Thales TCT’s small form factor module for the T-Series Tablet, and Backup HSMs – on NIST’s Modules in Process (MIP) List.
TCT submitted for FIPS 140-3 validation on firmware version 7.13.3 for both crypto modules. Customers interested in testing and deploying T-Series HSMs under their MIP status should upgrade to firmware version 7.13.3.
The T7’s current FIPS 140-2 certificate remains active and customers can continue to procure and deploy the T-Series Network and PCIe HSMs as fully FIPS-validated and compliant under this certificate.
